Deep Sea Fishing

Manzanillo is considered the “sailfish capital of the world” by many expert anglers and offers an abundance of big game fish to be "tackled": marlin, sailfish, tuna, pargo, robaldo and roosterfish.

Championship Golf

Just minutes from La Punta, Manzanillo boasts several top golf courses ideal for players looking to take the game to new heights with stunning cliff-top, jungle and ocean side topographies: Las Hadas La Mantarraya 18-hole course, Club Santiago 9-hole course, Grand Bay's Isla Navidad 27-hole course and El Tamarindo 18-hole course.

Snorkle & Scuba

Numerous outfits offer tours to the area’s top snorkeling and scuba diving sites, including the sunken ship at La Boquita, Los Frailles, Carrizales coral bowl, and the underwater caverns at Elephant Rock.

Whale watching

During the winter from December to April, La Punta becomes the best seat in the house to view the giant California grey whales on their annual migration down from Alaska to birth and nurse their young. Take a boat tour out to sea to witness the huge creatures up close!

Boaters love the open ocean and numerous coves and beaches the area has to offer. Las Hadas marine is a great option to store vessels and nearby Barra de Navidad has an excellent gas-up facility for all size yachts.

Visitors looking for shopping bargains can find some local steals at the beachside markets, which sell handicrafts, ceramic work, terracotta art and other traditional artisan work. There are also two small shopping plazas in Manzanillo. Barra de Navidad is a wonderful place to browse for souvenirs and home decor.
